Revamped MY16 Subaru XV hits Malaysian showrooms

The revamped MY16 Subaru XV has quite a following if the general groundswell of interest  is anything to go by. Integrating a sleeker yet equally manly look about it, a bevy of features from within and without and an enhanced powertrain, the new MY16 Subaru XV saw its official debut with a release to the press on 20th January by Motor Image Malaysia, the exclusive distributor for Subaru vehicles in Malaysia.

The revamped MY16 Subaru XV comes in a 2.0i and 2.0i Premium variant with the former prices at RM121,000 and the latter at RM125,000 (before GST, insurance, registration fee and road tax) and with your choice of six different colours with the Tangerine Orange Pearl paint job taking pride of place at the launch. The other five colours are Pure White, Ice Silver Metallic, Desert Khaki, Dark Grey Metallic and Obsidian Black Pearl.

The 2.0i and 2.0i Premium variants sport the same dimensions, engine and safety features but where they differ is that the Premium kit comes with more creature comforts. For your money, you get LED daytime running lights, power folding door mirrors with a built-in LED turn signal, a power adjustable driver’s seat, smart entry and a push start button, aluminium pedals, a 6-speaker premium audio system and a Bluetooth hands free system too.

Externally, the MY16 Subaru XV still retains the aesthetics of the mark like the hexagon grilled and C-shaped headlights.

The seals between the front and rear window glass and the weather strip have been improved while additional insulation has been added all around to cut down on wind and road noise.

Internally, the MY16 Subaru XV has a gussied up cluster display, posh looking leather seats along with a leather wrapped gear stick with orange trim. The steering wheel has been redesigned as well for a comfier grip.DSC04417 (Custom)

Pop the bonnet open and you get to see Subaru’s 2.0l 4-cylinder Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine that kicks out 150PS of horsepower and 196NM of torque with a mileage of 7.9litres/100km off the 60l fuel tank.
