Metal-hewn Honor 6A Pro lands in Malaysia at RM699
The sub RM-1000 smartphone market is a highly competitive one but honor’s latest honor 6A Pro aims to outdo its peers as it comes with quite a few interesting features for just under RM700. For the price of entry, you get a 5-inch HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor running Android 7.0 Nougat with their EMUI 5.0 user interface, 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage crammed into an all-metal chassis that’s just 8.22mm thin. That’s quite a step up from its contemporaries in its price range that usually still sport a cheapish polycarbonate casing.
Another feature it has that is usually an elusive feature in its price range is a fingerprint reader. In this case, the Honor 6A Pro mounts it on the rear just below a 13-MP snapper that has phase detection autofocus for fast subject acquisition along with an LED flash. Like many other honor and Huawei phones, the fingerprint reader can be used for other things beyond unlocking your phone and can be set as a shortcut to take snaps, answer a call and more.
The front 5-MP camera uses the touchscreen as an ersatz flash and also has a Beauty Mode 3.0 that helps to enhance the aesthetically challenged. It also has a 3,020mAh battery that offers a good dozen hours of HD video playback on a single charge. The Honor 6A Pro comes in either Grey or Gold for RM699 and is available nationwide.
