Xiaomi’s Mi A1 with Android One now available at RM1,099 in Malaysia
The Mi A1 epitomises Xiaomi’s dual pronged approach of offering top-shelf hardware at very reasonable prices as it sports a rear dual-camera and is part of Google’s Android One programme which ensures it’ll get timely updates. As it’s an Android One phone, it runs a clean version of Android sans the bloatware which means it will offer nippy, smooth experience. If this floats your boat you’ll be chuffed to know that it’s now officially available for sale in Malaysia at both online and offline retailers.
For Malaysia, Xiaomi will be selling the Mi A1 in a shade of Black or Gold and can be purchased today on the Mi store on Lazada or at premium offline resellers at Queensbay Mall, Mobile to Go (SS2 PJ) and Direct D outlets starting today for RM1,099.
Crammed into a 7.3mm thin machined aluminium casing is a 13.5-inch Full HD touchscreen sheathed in Gorilla glass, a power efficient Snapdragon 625 octacore processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The rear camera comes with two 12-MP cameras, one with a 5-element, 26mm focal length wide angle lens while the other has an F/2.6 aperture and 2x optical zoom with both working together to create the now customary bokeh effect for portraiture shots.
One pleasant addition for aspiring audiophiles is that the Mi A1 comes with a 10V power amp combined with the Dirac HD Sound algorithm with support for high-impedance headphones up to 600Ω. A 3,080mAh battery keeps it powered for quite awhile and it gets juiced via a USB Type-C port at the base of the phone. For more details on the Mi A1 swing by their official site here.
