As part of the global EVP programme, Samsung conducted its inaugural EVP programme for Malaysia at SMK Syed Mashor in Batang Kali. Under the auspices of the programme, 33 Samsung employees from Korea and 20 from Malaysia worked together to refurbish the school’s IT classroom, install energy saving lights, Samsung air conditioners and upgrade the school’s 30 computers with new Samsung monitors. Not only that, Samsung’s employees also conducted five IT courses to empower 30 teachers and 60 students with basic Java programming skills, elementary Google Docs skills, a Photoshop and Powerpoint course, a Microsoft Excel and Access course and a Computer Hardware Engineering course.

“This is a great programme that allows us to share our technology and knowledge with the community of Batang Kali. I hope that we will continue having this sort of initiative in the future with different groups of volunteers so we can bring positive change to more parts of the world one step at a time, “ said Ismanizam Yahaya, an employee volunteer from Samsung Malaysia Electronics.
