Shell celebrates 125th anniversary in Malaysia with epic art project
To kick off Shell’s 125th anniversary in Malaysia, Shell, along with a host of famous artists unveiled a host of 15 special murals nationwide. The line-up of famous artists include such notable worthies as Datuk Lat, Sabek, Yap Hanzhen, Amey Sheikh Ali, Caryn Koh, Tom Powell, Dmojo and Cheeming Boey.
The eight artists developed 15 murals that will be displayed for the next 12 months at selected Shell stations nationwide with at least one mural in each state. Check out the following image to see which Shell gas station has which particular mural:
Each mural is an interpretation of each artist’s own feelings on Malaysia’s pioneering spirit and progress over the years. Here’s a selection showcased at the recent press conference:
Shell has also conducted a host of other programmes to commemorate their 125th anniversary including a 3-day charity drive dubbed #Pump123 in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations where 1 sen from every litre of fuel pumped at Shell stations nationwide will be collected and disbursed to disadvantaged children nationwide.
