New FreeYond F9 and M5 smartphones redefine cheap; prices start from a low RM399
Newcomer tech brand FreeYond has officially launched their offerings in Malaysia that consist of the new FreeYond F9, the FreeYond M5, the Watch S1 and Watch F1 smartphone as well as the FreeYond Pods 1 wireless earbuds with an emphasis on affordability.

FreeYond M5 specs and price
The FreeYond M5 features a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Unisoc T606 processor running stock Android 12 and 4G LTE connectivity, 8GB RAM, 128GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot and has a rear triple camera setup with a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra wide and a 2MP macro camera with an 8MP selfie camera up front. Keeping it powered is a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired fast charging. In Malaysia, the FreeYond M5 is priced at RM699.
FreeYond F9 specs and price
The cheaper FreeYond F9 also has a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a slower 60Hz refresh rate, a UniSoc SC9863A processor with 4G LTE connectivity and running stock Android 12, a rear dual camera (13MP+ 2MP) with an 8MP selfie camera a 5,000mAh battery and two RAM/storage variants with the 2GB RAM/64GB storage variant retailing for RM399 and the 3GB RAM/128GB storage version costing RM499.
Also launched alongside their new smartphones were the new FreeYond S1 and F1 smartwatches. The FreeYond Watch S1 costs RM159 uses a zinc alloy frame, has a 1.39 inch display with an IP68 rating and offers battery life rated for 7 days while the FreeYond Watch F1 costs RM119 and features a larger 1.8-inch display with an IP67 rating and 5 days of usage.
Last but not least, they also launched a set of wireless earbuds called the FreeYond Pods 1 which offer up to 6 hours of use on a single charge and up to 30 hours of battery life inclusive of the charging case with an asking price of RM89.
