Downloadable Hello smart app offers helpful info and bookings for smart #1 EVs in Malaysia
Revealed earlier this year, the smart #1 EV will be available for bookings in Malaysia using the new Hello smart app that’s available for free download on the Google PlayStore, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery.
For the uninitiated, the smart #1 is a compact electric SUV that hosts a rear-mounted electric motor powered by a lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) battery with a 66 kWh capacity that can take the EV up to 440 km on a single charge while offering up to 272 PS and 343 Nm of torque. If you put the pedal to the metal, the EV can go up to 180 km/h and can go from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds.
A higher end Brabus variant adds an additional electric motor to create an all-wheel drive configuration with a total output of 428PS and 543 Nm of torque as well as a nippier 0-100km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds though maximum range goes down to 400 km.
What is the Hello smart app
The new Hello smart app is identical across all three app stores and acts as both an information nexus for the Smart #1 for Malaysian users and to preorder the compact electric SUV ahead of its slated arrival later this year in Q4 2023.
Divided into four main tabs , the Hello smart app enables users to gain access to the marketing literature of the Smart #1, check out a community page as well as the latest news on the EV itself on a main Discover tab.
A Vehicle tab lets users preorder and personalise their Smart #1 while also being able to check out estimated monthly payments, apply for loans and also information on the vehicle including battery and charging status, driving range and location in real time along with remote controls for the air conditioner, doors, windows and charge scheduling. There’s no price yet for the smart #1 as it hasn’t been launched yet though you can select the Premium and Brabus variants and put down an RM1,000 deposit to secure a booking.
A third e-Mall tab allows users to gain access to official merchandise and accessories while the fourth Profile tab sums up app functions and offers additional personalisation.
Of particular note with the Hello smart app especially for upcoming smart #1 owners is a live charging map that lists active EV charging points along with availability status for easy referral when on the move. You can check out the Hello smart App now on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery.
