Casetify Impact Ring Stand Case Review – Tough casings with kickstands for Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24+ and S24 tested

Smartphones are a substantial investment that are meant to last several years, more so Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series phones that have an impressive 7 years of OS and security updates. It simply makes practical sense to ensure that it is as well protected as possible which is where Casetify’s casings come into the picture. 

We managed to get our hands on a selection of their Galaxy S24 series cases awhile back. After putting them through their paces, here’s our Casetify Impact Ring Stand Case review where we share what we think of these casings intended for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra that have a unique twist.

Casetify Impact Ring Stand Case review -Build and Design

The Casetify Impact Ring Stand case is an upgraded version of the Impact case with the inclusion of a slightly chunkier metal ring surrounding the camera housing that can flip out to act as a kickstand while also acting as enhanced protection. 

Casetify Impact Ring Stand Case Review – The kickstand is able to flip down to about 150-degrees, allowing you to angle the Galaxy S24 to taste.

The kickstand itself is adjustable and designed to take the full weight of both the phone and the case, bending all the way to an almost-flat 150-degrees to enable you to adjust the angle to taste. This option is a bit pricier though as an Impact Ring stand case costs USD$88 regardless of the size of the phone you get it for which is a bit more than the US$77 of the base Impact case variant which  is otherwise identical but lacks the kickstand.

Our Casetify Impact Ring Stand Case review samples are each form-fitted to the exact dimensions of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. On ordering, you’re able to select what kind of art you’d like on the backplate from a selection of pre-defined options including a few where you can add in a bit of decorative text. 

Of note here is that the Casetify Impact Ring Stand cases are made of recycled phone casings which does reduce their carbon footprint somewhat without compromising their durability or structural integrity.

Better yet, the cases are all rated to survive up to a 6.6 foot drops to the ground. The  plastic used in the sides of the case is uniformly thick at about 2-3mm and is semi-flexible to offer some level of shock absorption though the corners do not seem to be reinforced with shock absorbers or additional protection.

The backplate is a solid, rigid piece of polycarbonate while the edges lining the front display are raised so that it can better survive a face-down impact.

Closer inspection of each case shows a remarkable attention to detail. The base has cutouts for the speaker and USB-C ports while the Galaxy S24 Ultra case uniquely has a cutout for access to the S Pen stylus. The left side hosts a set of holes for dangling a keychain charm while the right has a set of form-fitted overlays that fit over the volume rocker and power button to protect them from mishaps as well as general wear and tear.

After using our Casetify Impact Ring Stand Case review samples for a month with the Galaxy S24 series as our primary phones, I found minimal wear and tear even with heavy daily usage. Even after several weeks of use, the colours of the illustrated backplate remain vibrant and legible without any fading though a bit of lint did collect around the corners and edges.

The cases performed well and an accidental drop of the Galaxy S24 Ultra from waist height resulted in no damage to the phone. Button access was unimpeded and there were no issues with usage of the touchscreen.

The kickstand itself also came in handy for viewing Netflix and movies in landscape mode without the need to carry a separate kickstand. Perhaps the only quibble here is that the design of the kickstand means that you can only prop it up in landscape mode.

If you own a Galaxy S24 series phone, the Casetify Impact Ring Stand cases are a durable, effective investment that offers exceptional protective capabilities along with an integrated kickstand. It does not come cheap but there’s no price on peace of mind for keeping your phone in one piece.
