HONOR Magic V3 foldable, MagicPad 2 tablet and MagicBook Art 14 laptop to make global debut at IFA 2024
At IFA 2024, HONOR displayed a veritable hat trick as they officially announced not only their flagship HONOR V3 foldable but also a new MagicPad 2 tablet and their slim MagicBook Art 14 laptop. While all three have made their original debut domestically in China, their presence at IFA 2024 means that HONOR will be deploying them to a much wider market which will very likely include Malaysia.

When held, the new HONOR Magic V3 weighs just 226g while being just 4.35mm thin when fully unfolded and 9.2mm when folded up which makes it one of their slimmest and lightest foldables ever made. That’s not all, the phone also has an IPX8 water resistance rating too. In fact,the HONOR Magic V3 is so light that renowned card stacker Bryan Berg built a house of cards that was 54 card-levels high culminating in the HONOR Magic V3 at the apex.
Up front, the HONOR Magic V3 has a front 6.43-inch 120Hz OLED display with 5,000 nits peak brightness while the inner main display is an expansive 7.92-inch foldable LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits peak brightness. Perched on the front OLED display is a single 20MP camera for selfies while the rear hosts a triple camera setup that has a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera and OIS as well as a 40MP ultra wide angle camera.
In terms of hardware, the HONOR Magic V3 is armed with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Keeping the HONOR Magic V3 powered is a svelte 5,150mAh battery with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
HONOR MagicPad 2 specs
The new HONOR MagicPad 2 tablet sports a 12.3-inch OLED display with 3,000 x 1,920 pixels resolution that has a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.
Under the hood, the tablet has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor running Android 14 with their own MagicOS 8.0. On the imaging front, the MagicPad 2 tablet has a 13MP camera on the rear and a 9MP camera on the front. Keeping the phone powered is a massive 10,050mAh battery with 66W fast charging.
HONOR MagicBook Art 14
While HONOR has issued notebooks before, the new MagicBook Art 14 is their first premium ultralight design that is just 1cm thin and weighs just 1kg thanks to a combination of high-end materials that include magnesium, titanium and aluminium in its construction to retain durability and lightness.
In terms of hardware, the HONOR MagicBook Art 14 hosts a 14.6-inch 3.1K OLED touch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, has 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and a peak brightness of 700 nits, packs a detachable Smart Eye camera that magnetically latches on top of the display for video calls and has a battery rated for up to 6.2 hours of usage in the field.
HONOR Magic V3, MagicPad 2 and MagicBook Art 14 price
At present, the HONOR Magic V3 has already received SIRIM approval, marking its imminent arrival in Malaysia though the launch of the MagicPad 2 and MagicBook Art 14 in Malaysia is still open to speculation. Even so, odds are still quite good for them to arrive locally. At launch, the MagicBook Art 14 in China has prices that start from RMB7,999 (about RM4,885), the MagicPad 2 has prices that start from RMB,2899 (about RM1,770) and the HONOR Magic V3 has prices that start from RMB8,999 (about 5,495).
