Infinix XPAD Edge tablet launched in Malaysia for RM1,299

While tablets are typically intended for content consumption and modest productivity related tasks, the new Infinix XPAD Edge is a 13.2-inch slate that aims to offer PC-level productivity. Granted, it isn’t exactly a new fangled concept but Infinix’s take on the idea is the most refined budget version we’ve seen in ages.

In essence, you get a 13.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a broad 3:2 aspect ratio that optimises it for paperwork and which has TUV Rheinland certification for low blue light and flicker-free performance. This is paired with a Snapdragon 685 processor running Android 15 paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 of onboard storage that can be further augmented with a microSD card. Like many other Android devices, the tablet can also assign up to 8GB RAM off onboard storage as virtual RAM too, bumping RAM up to 16GB after a fashion.

Both the front and rear each integrate a single 8MP camera for video calls and basic snaps. The tablet also supports 4G LTE connectivity, allowing for work away from a WiFi hotspot. Keeping it powered is an 8,000mAh battery with 18W wired charging.

What enables the Infinix XPAD Edge tablet to offer a PC-like experience is the fact that it ships with a keyboard case that is not only detachable, allowing you to play it a bit farther away from you like a normal desktop PC but the Bluetooth keyboard itself also integrates a touchpad which is a rarity in keyboard setups for tablets. That’s not all, the Infinix XPAD Edge tablet also ships with a stylus, allowing you to draw and take notes as needed.

The Infinix XPAD Edge tablet also has a number of unique AI features including their Folax Voice Assistant, AI Screen Recognition on top of the usual Google Assistant. 

At present, the Infinix XPAD Edge tablet is now available nationwide in the above 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant that comes with a free keyboard case and stylus too for RM1,299 on their official stores on Shopee, Lazada and the TikTok shop as well as Infinix brand stores and authorised dealers.
