Maxis launches their own 4G phone – say hello to the NeXT M1
Most telcos in Malaysia offer smartphones from the world’s best vendors as a matter of course. Few have made their own smartphone though Maxis has just joined that exclusive club with their own NeXT M1.
Teased via elusive ads a few days ago, the NeXT M1 was unveiled in its full glory today. The NeXT M1 runs Android Marshmallow, has a 5.5-inch 401ppi Full HD display, packs a MediaTek MT6755M 1.8GHz octacore processor paired with a Mali-T860MP2 processor, has 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable memory and has a rear 13-MP camera. The front comes with a 5-MP camera and an LED flash. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi-N and 4G LTE. The battery clocks in at 2,960mAh and is non-removable.
The NeXT M1 comes ready to use from Maxis out of the box with 50 free call minutes and 4GB of data and you can get it for RM78 a month on a two-year contract with no up front payment. The phone also throws in a warranty that lasts for the entirety of the contract at 24-months and 6-months of screen protection too. The NeXT M1 is available for sale tomorrow at the Maxis Online Store, Maxis centres and Maxis Exclusive Partners starting today on 3 March and to MaxisONE Business and FlexiShare customers by the end of March.
