Acer CA321QK and CA271 Smart Monitors launched in Malaysia with prices starting from RM2,699

Acer has added two new additions to their line-up of monitors in Malaysia that aim to usher in a new era of convenience and portability.

While portable monitors aren’t a new fangled idea with Acer issuing several slim designs in the last few years, their new Acer CA321QK and CA271 smart monitors that have just launched locally come with wheeled stands that allow you roll it around anywhere around your home as you see fit.

Collectively designated as the Acer CA1 series smart monitors, the CA321QK and CA271 smart monitors are touch capable and retain a visually similar silhouette but differ slightly in terms of their screen resolution and capabilities.

Common to both designs is a free-rolling stand with modest height, tilt and pivot adjustments to finetune the position of the display to taste whether you use it in the bedroom, kitchen, dining room or any other part of your home.. Users are also able to rotate the displays into a vertical orientation for doomscrolling through TikTok and Instagram.

In terms of capabilities and size, the Acer CA321QK is the larger model of the two with a 31.5-inch VA touch panel that offers 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution in a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. The VA panel itself offers good side viewing angles and has up to 85% DCI-P3 colour gamut along with a 60Hz refresh rate. For sound, the monitor has a pair of 8W speakers

Running under the hood of the Acer CA321QK is a modest Android octacore processor running Android 14 paired with 8GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

Connectivity options are diverse with WiFi, Bluetooth, Miracast as well as a HDMI 2.0 port, a Type C port with 10W charging and a USB 3.0 Type A port  on the back. For video calls, the monitor includes an 8MP camera and it even has a small integrated battery that allows for up to 3 hours of usage away from a charging point.

The Acer CA271 smart monitor also uses a VA panel to ensure wide viewing angles but pares the size of the panel down to a 27-inch size with 1080p resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate and the same 85% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

For audio, the CA271 smart monitor has a pair of 5W tweeters and a pair of 5W midwoofers. It also has a slightly smaller battery compared to the larger CA271K.
