New laptops are humdrum affairs but the new Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Special Edition that’s now up for preorder in Malaysia is a notable change as it not features significantly more recycled plastics used in its construction than conventional laptops but also a collaboration with National Geographic too.

What is the Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Special Edition 

To earn its sustainability credentials, the Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Special Edition uses 30% post consumer recycled plastic for the cover, 50% of post consumer recycled plastics for the keycaps and 100% recyclable packaging.

In terms of hardware, the Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Special Edition is well equipped for general paperwork crunching duties. You get a 15.6-inch TFT LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate, an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1195G7, 16GB DDR4 RAM with 8GB soldered in and 8GB SoDIMM memory, a 1TB PCIE NVMe SSD and Iris Xe graphics.

Connectivity is comprehensive with fast WiFi 6 AX 201, Bluetooth 5.1, a wired Ethernet port, a HDMI 2.0 port with HDCP support, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

In Malaysia, the Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Special Edition retails for RM4,299. As an added bonus, those who preorder early get perks. The first 50 buyers get a free Acer Vero mouse and mousepad worth RM178. 

Acer also has a special trade-in programme to recycle old devices with up to RM500 cash rebate vouchers for eligible hardware turned in for recycling from 1st May until 31st July 2022.
