Acer Swift Edge with 16” 4K OLED display is the world’s lightest with an RM5,299 price tag

Acer is aiming to be on the cutting edge of innovation this time around as they’ve just taken the wraps off the Acer Swift Edge ultraportable laptop that has the enviable honour of being the world’s lightest 16-inch OLED laptop at just 1.17kg. At that weight for its size, it’s lighter than many other ultraportables with smaller displays.

What is the Acer Swift Edge

That’s not all as the new Acer Swift Edge is just half an inch thin at 12.95mm which makes it slimmer than a typical fashion magazine. These weight and space savings are on account of the use of magnesium alloy. Belying its size and weight, the Acer Swift Edge has  a 16-inch OLED panel with 4K resolution (,3840 x 2,400 pixels), a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, a 0.2ms response time and 500 nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, the Acer Swift Edge comes in two configurations for Malaysia with the top of the line version featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU, 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage for RM6,299. A slightly cheaper variant with an AMD Ryzen 5 6600U, 8GB RAM and 512GB of storage is available for RM5,299. In terms of endurance, the laptops come with a 54Wh 3-cell battery rated for about 10.5 hours of video playback.

In Malaysia, both variants of the Acer Swift Edge are available from the Acer Malaysia online store and all authorised Acer dealers nationwide.
