Asus Malaysia pushes Zenfone 3 Zoom update with sweet new portrait mode
The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom is currently the best phones they have ever made. A massive 5,000mAh battery ensures endurance under heavy use and it has an efficient Snapdragon 625 processor along with 64GB of expandable storage. The pièce de résistance though is it’s rear dual camera array that has a pair of 12-MP cameras, one of which has an F/1.7 aperture and the other an F/2.6 with 2.6x optical zoom along with OIS for some seriously good snaps. Now, they’re making it even better as the phone is now updating to Android 7.1.1 Nougat along with a nifty new Portrait mode for the rear camera.
The new Portrait mode uses image data from both cameras to create a focused subject in front and a beautifully blurred background. Users are able to dial the blur effect in real time via the user interface. It’s not a new fangled thing, mind, but it’s a welcomed feature for Asus’ current flagship phone. Portrait mode also also has an onscreen F-stop slider on the user interface that you can dial at will.
The Nougat 7.1.1 update also offers the following additions:
· Multi-Window View – Run two apps side by side
· Quick App Switch – Switch between apps with a double tab
· Notification Directly Reply – Reply to messages right inside the notification screen
· 72 New Emojis – Select new emoji genders and skin tones
· Data Saver – Limit how much data the device uses
· Notification Controls – Choose app notification preferences
· Display Size – Change the size of texts and icons
If you’re a Zenfone 3 Zoom owner, the updates should be pushed to you live by now under the system update designation NMF26F.WW_user_20.31.48.2_20170620. For more details swing by Asus’ official site here.
