ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop with AMD Ryzen 4000 CPUs is yours from RM4,499
ASUS has been knocking things out of the ball park recently with the release of their ultra light, high-performing business laptop dubbed the B9 in Malaysia and now their gaming-centric arm Republic of Gamers looks set to repeat that with their ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop that the claim is the world’s most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop and it’s not an idle boast by any means.
Unveiled at CES 2020, the ROG Zephyrus G14 is an ultra-slim 14-inch gaming notebook that aims to redefine the concept of a gaming laptop. Back in the day, gaming laptops weighed as much as a pachyderm and were just as chunky with all the portability of a bank vault.
With recent refinements in chassis materials, processors and GPUs, Asus has managed to craft a high-performance gaming laptop in a chassis of a standard 14-inch laptop with an NVIDIA RTX series GPU, the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors and an impressive 14-inch 1080P 120Hz refresh display all shoehorned into a chassis that is just 17.9mm thin and weighing just 1.6kg.
These savings in weight are on account of advancements in how they create the chassis with the use of magnesium aluminium alloy for lighter weight while they’ve integrated honeycomb-style structural reinforcements for added strength without compromising on durability.
Ogleworthy? Yes, indeed, but wait, it gets better. Just to troll the competition and to impress your peers, the Zephyrus G14 also has an ace up its sleeve – the rear has an AniMe dot matrix display that lights up to depict anything you want whether it’s a corporate logo or the proverbial finger rendered into sprite form. All this is charged via your choice of either traditional DC or a Type-C port via a 65W power adaptor if you’re handling lighter non-gaming workloads and the laptops come with WiFI 6 (Gig+)
