New Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 laptop with Snapdragon X Elite CPU and Copilot Plus enhanced AI is here
Asus is looking to take AI-powered computing experiences to the next level as they’ve just revealed their latest laptop powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor dubbed the Asus Vivobook S 15 aka model S5507. This new addition to the Asus Vivobook line-up has a more sophisticated version of Copilot, dubbed Copilot Plus along with enhanced performance for AI-driven workloads and applications.
What is Windows Copilot Plus
According to Asus, the Vivobook S 15 S5507 is one of the first devices globally to feature WIndows Copilot Plus. The beefed up AI-assistant offers accelerated AI-related tasks on account of its potent new 12-core Snapdragon X Elite processor which has a custom Qualcomm Oryon CPU and Hexagon NPU which offers 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS).
For the uninitiated, Windows began rolling out their Copilot AI assistant sometime late last year with selected laptops across multiple brands featuring a special Copilot shortcut key in the keyboard though by and large almost any laptop running Windows 11 with sufficient hardware can support it.
However, Windows Copilot Plus PC is a different kettle of fish with higher computational requirements and is thus far exclusive to only the Vivobook S 15 S5507 and selected other laptops by other brands capable of running including Microsoft’s own Surface Pro and Surface Laptop.
Among the enhancements in WIndows Copilot Plus include StoryCube, an AI app that helps to manage, sort, edit and export capture raw files. There will also have enhanced lighting and noise removal during video calls in portrait mode using Windows Studio Effects,
The new Snapdragon X Elite CPU also powers other AI powered features like Live captions and live translations for captured video, Cocreator in Paint to create images with just basic sketches and written text as well as Recall mode that helps to find files or other missing stuff on your PC using natural language prompts and queries.
Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 specs
Improved AI abilities aside, the Asus Vivobook S 15 S5507 is ably equipped as laptops go. You get a 15.6-inch ASUS Lumina OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 and DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification.
You also get the Snapdragon X Elite processor paired with up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to a 1TB SSD. The laptop can also alternatively be equipped with a 10-core Snapdragon X Plus processor too depending on region.
Additional features include an Asus 1080p AI camera, fast WiFi 7 as well as Dolby Atmos and Harmon Kardon-certified stereo speakers. Keeping the Asus VIvobook S 15 S507 powered is a 70Wh battery rated for up to 18 hours of battery life paired with a 70Wh battery.
At present, there are no official prices yet for the Asus VIvobook S 15 S5507 nor are there any scheduled launch dates as yet for Malaysia though it has been quoted to cost US$1,299 for the 16GB RAM/1TB storage with Snapdragon X Elite variant.
