Asus launches Zenbook A14, Malaysia’s lightest 14-inch Copilot+ laptop weighs just 899g

Asus has just launched the market’s lightest 14-inch Copilot+ laptop in Malaysia dubbed the Zenbook A14 UX3407. Weighing just 899g, the Zenbook A14 laptop is made completely from Ceraluminum which blends lightness and durability in equal measure that’s 30% lighter and three times stronger than anodised aluminium.

Also launched was the refreshed Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 16 that come with your choice of either Snapdragon X Elite, AMD Ryzen 7 AI or Intel Core Ultra series 2 processors as well as the Zenbook 14 and Zenbook 16 Flip with 360-degree hinges. Here’s how the new line-up stacks up and how much they cost.

Beyond its ultralight chassis, the Zenbook A14 UX3407 uses the Snapdragon X octacore chipset with rated for up to 45 TOPS for its Hexagon NPU, has 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, a 1TB SSD and notably has a 14-inch FHD+ (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) IPS LCD display with 100% sRGB and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Connectivity covers the usual options including Bluetooth and WiFi 6E.

Keeping it powered is a 48Wh 3-cell lithium ion battery with a 65W fast USB-C charger. In Malaysia, this version is priced at RM4999 with your choice of either a Zabriskie Beige or Iceland Gray colourway.

Another variant exists with a more powerful Snapdragon X Elite processor that’s clocked faster and which has a 12-core CPU while sporting the same Hexagon NPU rated for 45 TOPs. The screen size and resolution is identical to the base variant but uses an OLED panel instead that offers 100% DCI-P3, DisplayHDR True Black 600 and 600 nits HDR peak brightness.

Paired with the chipset is 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB SSD. This variant also has faster WiFi 7. Keeping it powered is a larger 70Wh battery with a faster 90W adapter though the trade off is that it’s also slightly heavier at 980g. It also costs a bit more at RM5,999

In Malaysia, Asus is offering an early bird promotion from 7 – 31 March 2025 with every purchase getting a complimentary ZenScreen MB166B display worth RM700 while stocks last.

Asus Vivobook 14 and Vivobook 16 specs and price

The refreshed Asus Vivobook 14 and 16 2025 Copilot+ PCs sport more conventional materials in their design and are commensurately heavier than the Zenbook A14 series with a chassis that weighs from 1.46kg and up. 

In Malaysia, you can get it with your choice of either a 14-inch FHD+ (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) display or a 16-inch FHD+ (1,920 x 1,200) pixels display,  a Snapdragon X octacore processor with a Hexagon NPU rated for up to 45 TOPS, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB SSD. The laptop also features a 50Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery that is rated for up to 29 hours of battery life with a 65W charger. Both the 14-inch and 16-inch variants retail for the same RM2,999 and, barring the screen size, sport the same chipset, RAM, storage and battery size.

Alternatively, you can acquire the Zenbook 14 or 16 with similar display panels but with AMD Ryzen AI 7 series processors. You can acquire the Vivobook 14 or 16 with the aforementioned panel sizes, an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with an AMD XDNA NPU rated for up to 50 TOPS, 16GB DDR5 RAM, a 512GB SSD, WiFi 6 connectivity and a 42Wh battery with 65W wired charging. Regardless of display size, the Vivobook 14 or Vivobook 16 with AMD Ryzen 7 AI CPUs retails for RM3,499.

You get a similar 16-inch FHD+ display as the other Vivobook AMD and Snapdragon X powered variants but this particular version uses an Intel Core Ultra 5 225H series 2 CPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM and up to a 1TB SSD with Intel Arc 130T graphics. The battery itself is similar as the AMD mode with a 42Wh cell and 65W wired charging.

Alongside the Zenbook A14 and refreshed Vivobook 14 and 16, Asus also revealed their new Vivobook 14 and 16 Flip convertible laptops that have 360-degree hinges, touch displays and up to 28 hours of battery life. The smaller model features a 14-inch FHD+ OLED touch display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3, an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor with an Intel AI Boost NPU rated for up to 47 TOPS, 32GB LPDDR5X, a 1TB SSD, Intel Arc Graphics 140V, a 70Wh battery with 65W charging and a bundled Asus Pen SA203H stylus. In Malaysia, this version retails for RM5,999.

If you need a bigger display, you get the Vivobook 16 Flip which has a larger 16-inch 3K (2,880 x 1,800) pixels OLED display with a faster 120Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3, the same Intel Core Ultra 7 258V chipset as the smaller 14-inch variant, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, a 1TB SSD, Intel Arc Graphics 140V and a slightly larger 75Wh battery with 65W charging. It also weighs a bit more at 1.76kg. This version retails for RM6,099.
