Asus Zenbook Duo UX8406, Zenbook S13 OLED UX5304M, Vivobook 16 A1605 and more launched in Malaysia

Asus launched a new range of laptops to start 2024 off including the new dual-screen Zenbook Duo UX8406, the Zenbook S13 OLED UX5304M, the Zenbook UX3405 that we reviewed recently and, for those on a budget, the affordable new Vivobook A 1605 all of which will be available for sale in Malaysia after being officially announced at CES 2024.

Asus Zenbook Duo UX8406 Malaysia price, specs and launch date

The centrepiece design of the launch is the new Asus Zenbook Duo UX8406 which comes with two fold-flat hinged 14-inch 3K Lumina OLED touchscreens that each have 2,880 x 1,800 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate as well as 100% DCI P3. For input, you get a detachable Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad that sticks to the bottom half of the Zenbook Duo UX8406 with pogo pins and magnets to let it function like a conventional laptop which does have some aspects of design from the earlier Zenbook 17 Fold OLED launched in 2022. 

When detached, you can prop the laptop up fully like a display to enjoy a full 19.8-inch screen. Powering the laptop is an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD with Intel Arc graphics. For Malaysia, Asus is offering the Zenbook Duo UX8406 at RM9,999 from 19th February onwards. Early birds who purchase the laptop will get an Asus VivoWatch 5 worth RM1,288. A higher end version with an Intel Core Ultra i9 processor is also available for sale at a later date.

Asus Vivobook 16 A1605 Malaysia specs, price and launch date

The Asus Vivobook 16 A1605 uses a similar design to the earlier Vivobook 16 M1605 that we reviewed with a 16-inch WUXGA display with 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio but uses a power efficient Intel Core i5 120U processor and Intel integrated graphics. The laptop has 16GB RAM and has a 512GB SSD. 

For video calls, the Vivobook 16 A1605 has a HD web camera with a sliding privacy shutter and students will love the fact that it has a free copy of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 included. In Malaysia, the Vivobook 16 1605 comes in Indie Black and Cool Silver with both priced at RM3,099 starting from 29th January 2024.

Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED Malaysia specs, price and launch date

Also launched is the refreshed Zenbook S 13 OLED UX5304M ultralight laptop for 2024. We tested the earlier version launched in 2023 and the updated version is still the world’s slimmest OLED laptop but now powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U processor with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD as well as Intel Arc graphics. The main display itself is still a 13.3-inch 3K Lumina OLED non-touch display with the whole laptop weighing just 1kg while being 10.9mm thin.
