Asus Zenfone 5 Lite leaks with quad cameras and fullview display

Asus is looking to make a grand showing at Mobile World Congress (2018) and they’ve sent out invites to media with a multi-coloured swirl in the shape of a number 5 along with the hashtags #Backto5 and their current hashtag #WeLovePhoto. Odds are good that the launch is about their new Zenfone 5 line though renowned leaker Evan Blass has unveiled renders and art for one of the phones that will likely appear ahead of its official launch – the Zenfone 5 Lite.

According to two tweets by Evan Blass, the Zenfone 5 Lite will come in four different colours – Midnight Black, Moonlight White and Rouge Red in addition to a clean white version based on a later image. In terms of design, it features a rounded rear fingerprint sensor and a vertically oriented rear dual camera array which integrates a pair of 16-MP cameras. The front also sports a dual front camera with each camera packing a 20-MP sensor, making the whole affair the latest addition to a growing number of quad camera phones like the Huawei Nova 2i.

The front of the Zenfone 5 Lite also lacks a home button and has an 18:9 aspect ratio fullview display though Blass mentions that it will be FHD+ resolution. Other design aspects of the phone include a 3.5mm audio jack on the top, a power button and volume rocker on the right and a speaker/mike grille at the base of the phone. Odds are good it will come with a hybrid SIM though this will usually vary depending on market.

Inferring from the MWC Invite, the phone will most likely come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor though what it will be is open to speculation at the moment as is its other hardware specifications including storage and RAM. All will be revealed at 7.30PM CET on February 27 which is about 2.30AM the next day so we won’t have long to wait.
