Budget vivo Y28s 5G phone now in Malaysia; prices start from RM799

Smartphone purveyor vivo has released another affordable phone in Malaysia dubbed the vivo Y28s 5G which comes in two RAM/storage configurations and prices that start from RM799 and up.

The vivo Y28s 5G comes with a 6.56-inch LCD display with HD resolution (720 x 1,612 pixels) and a 90Hz refresh rate along with a speaker flanking the display with the ability to ramp up to 150% additional volume. Interestingly enough, it is also one of the few phones seen in recent times that actually retains a 3.5mm audio jack.

Under the hood, the phone uses the Mediatek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with either 8GB RAM along with 8GB of virtual RAM assigned off the onboard 256GB storage or 6GB RAM with 6GB virtual RAM and 128GB of storage. Fortunately, the phone has the option to expand storage across both variants thanks to a hybrid microSD/SIM card slot. Keeping the vivo Y28s 5G powered is a 5,000mAh battery with 15W wired charging.

To capture shots, the phone has a rear dual camera which consists of a 50MP F/1.8 main camera and a 2MP F/2.4 depth sensor while the front has a single 8MP F/2.0 selfie camera. An interesting feature to note is that the phone has an IP64 splashproof rating and a 48-month ‘Smooth Experience’ guarantee from Vivo that assures owners will get a seamlessly smooth user experience without lagging for the coming 4 years.
