Cycle & Carriage Bintang bring cheer to the underprivileged
Volunteers from Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad and the Kechara Soup Kitchen set out to bring a measure of cheer and to help alleviate the burden of the homeless and underprivileged around Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Penang during the recent festive season.
In Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru, a delegation of Cycle & Carriage Bintang employees took time out to reach out and donate special care packages to 30 low income families in need of assistance. Each package contained nutritious consumables such as rice, cooking oil, oats and biscuits. Members of the delegation also lent an ear to listen to their plight so as to better understand the challenges that these families were facing. Up north in Penang, Cycle & Carriage Bintang employees helped at the Kechara Soup Kitchen to package and distribute warm meals to the homeless.
Cycle and Carriage Bintang also took the extra step and donated a generous RM15,000 in financial aid as well as goods in kind worth RM4,850 to help Kechara with its efforts to assist the underprivileged. Since 2015, they have contributed over RM71,000 to numerous charitable causes in Malaysia on top of offering additional assistance to shelter homes, the National Cancer Society and the National Autistic Society.
“Cycle & Carriage Bintang’s forte is in the delivery of high quality retail and after-sales service. Similarly, we are just as passionate about our service to the community around us. The festive season is often a time when families gather to reconnect over a warm meal. Through this collaboration with Kechara and the Food Bank Delivery initiative, we are happy to bring the joy of the festive season to families living in poverty and the homeless,” said Cycle & Carriage Bintang CEO, Wilfrid Foo.
