Dell Malaysia transitioning completely to online; ending sales at retail outlets

There were rumours bandied about on the grapevine that Dell Malaysia would be ending sales of their laptops and PCs at retail outlets nationwide in Malaysia. The rumours are apparently true as an official statement says that they will stop selling their products at retail outlets not just in Malaysia but in Singapore as well.

In an official statement, Dell Technologies stated that:

• Dell Technologies has announced plans to transition out of the retail market in Singapore and Malaysia. Customers will still have access to the full complement of our products and services through Dell direct.

Dell also said that contractual commitments with all  partners and customers will be honoured, and that  the company  is on hand to work with partners to coordinate a seamless transition. Dell anticipates the transition to be completed by the end of January 2021.

What this means is that Dell Malaysia is selling their laptops and PCs primarily from their www.dell.com website. At present, their existing outlets will still be selling their current complement of devices but will likely wind down sometime in January 2021 next year to solely an online presence. 

This transition to a purely online retail model does not affect their warranties and product servicing procedures  in Malaysia so you purchase their kit with peace of mind and they still make some of the best laptops in the market like their XPS 13 2020 that we tested awhile back.
