Disney+ Hotstar coming to Malaysia this 1 June; priced at RM54.90 for 3 months

The circle is complete and Walt Disney has announced that their fully operational streaming service Disney+ Hotstar will launch in Malaysia on 1st June 2021 with a veritable cornucopia of content that include local favourites and the world’s most famous hits from renowned franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and much more.

Disney+ Hotstar Price and Availability

Disney+ Hotstar will cost RM54.90 for three months and can also be obtained via special packages with Astro. Subscribers can support two concurrent streams per registered account and content is commercial-free for an uninterrupted viewing experience with a child-friendly content section. The Disney+ Hotstar app is free to download on iOS and Android devices and with Astro and the service will go live on 1st June.

Notably, the service will feature all 12 Star Wars movies, Pixar and Disney’s upcoming Luca which will be released straight to Disney+ Hotstar on 18th June, the vast majority of the Marvel franchise including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier including the films, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger and more. Here’s the official list:

• Marvel Super Heroes: Marvel Studios’ Original Series WandaVision (all episodes), The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (all episodes), Loki (starts streaming in June), Marvel Studios: Assembled and Marvel Studios: Legends, as well as blockbuster films including Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Deadpool and more. Also available are television series such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., M.O.D.O.K., Runaways and Cloak and Dagger

• Disney Favourites, including Original Animation and Live Action Remakes such as The Lion King, Mulan, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Frozen 1 and 2 and the Pirates of the Caribbean series 
• Disney+ Originals: Exclusive titles only available on Disney+ Hotstar, such as The Mandalorian, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, folklore: the long pond studio sessions, The Right Stuff, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Big Shot, Flora & Ulysses, The One and Only Ivan, Muppets Now, Lady and the Tramp and Godmothered

• Top Malaysian hits: An exciting lineup of new releases and well-loved local content such as J2: J Retribusi, Zombitopia (starts streaming 2 July), Ada Hantu (starts streaming mid-Aug), Semanis Senyumanmu and Wifi Sebelah Rumah (starts streaming end-June).
