Ducati rolls out the Panigale V4, Multistrada 1260 S and Monster 821 bikes in Malaysia
Naza has rolled out three high performance bikes in Malaysia for discerning users who appreciate the need for speed melded to designs that offer good looks, performance and endurance in equal measure. At an evening soiree, Naza, the official distributor of the Ducati brand in Malaysia showcased the Ducati Panigale V4 and V4S, the Multistrada 1260 S and the Monster 821 which are every bit as impressive as their names imply.
The Ducati Panigale V4 superbike culls inspiration and technology from the MotoGP Desmosedici racing bike and is the first mass-production Ducati bike to mount a four-cylinder engine, specifically the Desmosedici Stradale that boasts of a maximum 214hp@13,000rpm and a power/weight ratio of 1:1 along with a torque of 12.6 KGm at 10,000rpm.
Much like the Desmosedici GP, the Panigale V4 comes with the new Desmosedici Stradale engine that notably uses a counter-rotating crankshaft and twin pulse ignition to make it exceptionally nimble indeed on the road. This immensely powerful engine is complemented by the latest generation six-axis inertial platform data (6D IMU) along with front wheel ABS cornering and Quickshift Up & Down (DQS) for handling tight angles. The Ducati Panigale V4 comes with a variety of accessories and parts packages with prices starting from RM129,900 for the V4 variant and the V4 S retailing for RM169,900. The V4S justifies its slightly more premium price with Ohlins NIX-30 forks, aluminium forged wheels and a suspension and steering damper with an Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 system.
The Ducati Multistrada 1260 S is the epitome of versatility with the capability to tackle a variety of roles from serious racing to leisure on account of its redesigned chassis and electronics. The bike is built around a new 1262 cc Ducati Testastretta DVT engine which offers up to 4,000rpm torque complemented by a new Ride-by-Wire system paired with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) for a smooth ride. Comfort is assured on account of a redesigned chassis which allows for easier navigation of curves even at full loads. Other mod-cons include Ducati’s renowned Ducati Skyhook suspension (DSS) Evolution control system and a Vehicle Hold Control for safe start-ups uphill. The Ducati Multistrada 1260 S retails for RM129,900 in red while the grey hued variant costs a bit more at RM130,900.
The heir to their Monster 900 that debuted at the Cologne Motor Show in 1992, the Ducati Monster 821 is a nimble and sporty ride with the characteristic Monster silhouette and headlight design with slight tweaks for modern sensibilities that include a colour TFT display. Under the hood is an Euro 4 compliant liquid-cooled testastretta 11 engine with 8.8 kgm of torque at 7,750rpm and the ability to deliver 108hp at 9,250rpm. Of note is that it has three selectable Riding Modes that give it three uniquely different rides and characteristics. The Monster 821 comes in Ducati Red for RM65,900 and the classic Ducati Yellow for RM66,900. All three of the aforementioned bikes are available for viewing at authorised Ducati dealerships nationwide.
