Epson’s new LightScene EV-105 accent lighter laser projector is most enlightening indeed

Plunk an art piece on a pedestal and people go meh. Now point some fancy accented lighting on it that really emphasises everything unique about the piece and you get a massive bump up in pizzazz, which is what Epson’s LightScene EV-105 accent lighter laser projectors are all about.

The EV-105 isn’t just a mere light as it’s a full fledged projector with the works designed to project onto almost any surface or material, which makes it ideal for environments like showrooms, shop window displays, museum exhibits and art installations. That art piece? Now imagine a virtual seascape projected around it to make it look like it was underwater or, for the matter anything else that floats your boat. Cool? Indeed.

The projector uses 3LCD laser tech to serve up a WXGA resolution image up to 133-inches in size from up to 4 meters away on wide and up to 6.34 meters away on telescopic. The whole affair is rated to offer 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation while also serving up 2,000 lumens of colour brightness and a 2,500,000:1 contrast ratio so as to ensure a rich visual extravaganza

It’s also rather versatile too and can work in tandem with other EV-105s, read data straight off an SD card or even via Wi-Fi or HDMI. If you’re planning to cook up your own supervillain lair or happen to have an art piece for the ages in your home, this may be well worth thinking about. Best get the plastic ready though as it costs RM10,000 for one.
