First look at the HTC Desire 10 Pro
While HTC has been quiet of late, they’ve been preparing for their next salvo to hit the midrange market by adding a heavily upgunned addition to their workhorse Desire phone line-up for Malaysia.
While it is classified as part of their midrange line, the Desire 10 Pro looks surprisingly premium, which explains the addition of the 10 Pro suffix to its name. The sample we received came in a matte black finish embellished with gold accents on the top, sides and bottom.
The base of the phone comes with a microUSB port that powers up the non-removable 3,000mAh battery and a speaker grille at the base.
The right side of the phone comes with a knurled power button along with a volume rocker. The left side of the phone sports a hybrid SIM card. So you either get to pack two SIM cards or one SIM and one microSD card.
In terms of hardware, the Desire 10 Pro comes with a 5.5-inch 1080P LCD sheathed in Gorilla glass. Powering Android Marshmallow 6.0 is a Mediatek Helio P10 octacore processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage.
The front camera comes with a 13-MP BSI sensor with an F/2.2 aperture and a 27.8mm focal length with the ability to capture 1080p video. The rear camera is exceptionally well kitted out. For your money, you get a 20-MP camera with a BSI sensor along with a similar F/2,2 aperture and 27.8mm focal length rear camera as well as the ability to capture images in RAW and up to Full HD 1080p video as well. Both front and rear cameras come with an Auto HDR mode too so it should be up to the task of capturing some luscious snaps. We took it for a quick whirl around a variety of lighting and shooting scenarios and it proved to be quite a competent phone indeed.
The HTC Desire 10 Pro is slated to arrive in Malaysia sometime this month in December with an approximate price tag of of around RM1,600 in several diffierent colour variants though they were not able to confirm details at press time. For more details stay tuned to HTC’s page at www.htc.com/sea
