Awesome Fujifilm X-S20 mirrorless camera priced from RM6,888 for body only coming to Malaysia
The Fujifilm X-S20 digital camera is slated to arrive in Malaysia with a scheduled in-store date of 29th June 2023. The latest addition to their X series mirrorless line-up, the Fujifilm X-S20 series camera adds in a host of practical upgrades including a larger battery for extended endurance in the field with the body weighing just 491g. Also launched alongside the camera is their new Fujinon XF8mm F3.5 R WR ultra wide angle lens and their new FUJIFILM Xapp.
Fujifilm X-S20 Specs and Price in Malaysia
In terms of performance, the new Fujifilm X-S20 digital camera comes with a fifth generation back-illuminated 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor paired with Fujifilm’s own X-Processor 5 image processing engine to capture crisp stills and up to 6.2K@30p 4:2:2 10-bit video along with more mainstream 4K/60P and 1080/240P video capture. Of note is the inclusion of 19 Film Simulation modes to create a similar effect akin to filming with traditional film to create a classic look when filming content.
Belying its light 491g carry weight, the body itself features a large hand grip for added stability while integrating a five-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) that offers up to 7.0-stop stabilisation while featuring subject-based AI-powered autofocus with the ability to intelligently detect animals, birds, cars, planes and drones in the frame akin to the existing Fujifilm X-T5.
Shots are framed on the rear 2.36-million dot EVF with 0.62x magnification as well as the tiltable rear 1.84-million dot rear LCD. In terms of endurance, the Fufjifilm X-S20 accepts their own NP-W235 high-capacity batteries which are rated for 800 shots per battery on a full charge. Of note with the Fujifilm X-S20 is a USB-C port that allows it to be used directly as a webcam without the need for additional software.
In Malaysia, the Fujifilm X-S20 retails for RM6,888 for the body only while the 15-45mm kit lens with body costs RM7,388 and the 18-55mm lens along with the body retails for RM8,888.
For those who preorder the X-S20 camera before 25th June 2023, Fujifilm, is tossing in a generous slew of free gifts including a pair of 12GB SD Extreme Pro UHS-1 SD cards, an additional battery, a 1TB Sandisk SSD, a Nanlite video light, an RM500 XF Lens voucher and a flash drive, with the whole affair worth a total of a whopping RM3,285.
Fujinon Lens XF8mm F.3.5 R WR lens specs and price
While the Fujifilm X-S20 takes the limelight, the Fujinon Lens XF8mm F3.5 R WR lens is a potent addition to any expert Fujifilm camera user’s arsenal especially for landscape photography. The XF8mm F3.5 R WR lens is an ultra-wide angle prime lens with a focal length of 8mm (equivalent to 12mm in 35mm film format) while delivering exceptional visual clarity.
The lens itself consists of a dozen lens elements in nine groups that include three aspherical elements and two ED elements, with the whole affair weighing about 215g. Of note is that the lens barrel is dust and weather resistant with a fluorine coating on the front lens element to repel water and stains.
Alongside the new lens and camera, Fujifilm also launched their new FUJIFILM Xapp that allows users to operate a compatible Fujifilm camera remotely via a paired smartphone using the app along with the ability to browse through a camera feed without having to take pop its SD card into a reader. The app itself is available on iOS and iPAD OS 13 and up as well as Android 11 and up. The app itself is free to download.
