GrabFood Small Business Programme to offer more support for small food businesses in the new normal

Seeing that we’re all living in a challenging new normal where more people are both working from home and relying more on delivery services for everything from groceries to food deliveries, Grab is looking to help small food businesses adapt to these challenging new times with their GrabFood Small Business Programme.

What is GrabFood Small Business Programme

The GrabFood Small Business Programme consists of three key areas which comprise of an online solution, a marketing campaign to drive demand and visibility on GrabFood as well as learning and development opportunities for small businesses.

As part of growing small GrabFood businesses online, Grab is launching their ‘Grab Online Shop’ in June to enable them to have their own website with a unique domain to promote on their own social media channels with integration with GrabPay, GrabRewards and deliveries with Grab’s delivery-partners. GrabFood has also made it much easier with self-onboarding via the GrabMerchant app and easy instructions to set up an online presence and there are options to scale up as small businesses grow larger.

All this enables small businesses to rapidly grow their presence with Grab’s proven payment and delivery systems. The Grab Online Shop is available for a 10% service fee but small businesses can enjoy a 0% service fee until the end of 2021.

To further grow small food businesses, GrabFood is hosting week-long promotions to highlight them with a free-delivery campaign until 7th June to increase visibility and orders.

To help businesses grow even more, Grab is holding webinars and structured training via the soon to be launched GrabAcademy to help them gain insight and drive more traffic to their respective digital stores.

The pandemic disrupted small businesses, and gave us insights into their needs as they cope with the current challenging times. Additionally, studies have also shown that consumers are likely to continue using digital services going forward, even in a post-pandemic world [1]. Considering this, we believe our technology and capabilities can provide small businesses with longer-term solutions to help them address consumers’ evolving needs. Therefore, the programme and the ‘Grab Online Shop’ is an example of how we are using our platform and making technology more accessible to small businesses. With our consumers’ support, we hope to help small businesses adapt, recover and preserve Malaysia’s vibrant food scene,” said Sean Goh, Managing Director, Grab Malaysia
