Häagen-Dazs serves up Frozen Yogurt delights to beat the heat
The weather of late may be hot enough to melt the paint off the walls but Häagen–Dazs has served up something refreshing to beat the heat. They’ve recently introduced their new Frozen Yogurt flavour as a permanent addition to Häagen–Dazs stores nationwide along with a selection of new concoctions and desserts that incorporate Frozen Yogurt in tantalising ways.
Eaten on its own, Häagen–Dazs’ Frozen Yogurt flavour delivered a light, mildly sweet, creamy and slightly tart flavour on the tongue in keeping with its primary component that is created from imported fresh milk.
While it’s deliciously refreshing when taken neat, you can dine in or at a Häagen–Dazs establishment and enjoy a series of items on the menu that feature Frozen Yogurt in creative ways. Häagen–Dazs Malaysia took the opportunity to showcase these delightful creations to invited guests and they were delectable indeed. Several of the confections displayed are limited edition creations that will only be available for a limited time till 4 October 2017 while others will be permanent additions to the menu. Here’s a quick rundown after field testing their line-up:
Froyo Cheesecake Bingsu
First off was the Froyo Cheesecake Bingsu which consists of a huge glass cup heaped high with soft milk ice before being topped with cheesecake bites, strawberry slices and a scoop of Frozen Yogurt.
The milk infused ice offered an interesting melt-in-the-mouth texture on the tongue with a faint aftertaste of condensed milk that was refreshing when alternated with the serving of Frozen Yogurt on top. The cheesecake bites helped to vary the taste profile and textures slightly by giving a firmer bite and savoury hints from the cheese to the mountain of ice in the glass. One serving costs RM25.90 and serves two people or one individual with a particularly strong sweet tooth.
Mango Smoothie
Häagen–Dazs also served up a limited edition Mango Smoothie (RM21.90) that consists of a blend of Froyo Icecream, Greek yogurt along with fresh milk to create a creamy, thick smoothie. This is poured into a glass which has been layered with scoops of freshly diced imported Alphonso mangoes before being topped off with even more mango chunks. It’s a sweet beverage that was also quite filling too.
Froyo Crunch
Another limited edition offering was the Froyo Crunch (RM25.90) that is made of layers of yogurt and crunchy granola with liberal lashings of fruits topped by two scoops of Frozen Yogurt ice cream.
After the promotion period is over, you can still ‘sort’ of order it by ordering any of the preexisting Parfait Crunch desserts and simply swapping out one of the provided ice cream scoops with Frozen Yogurt.
Raspberry Yogurt Tart
The most interesting addition to Häagen–Dazs’ line-up that is also a permanent addition to their menu is the sublime Raspberry Yogurt Tart that comes with a chocolate cookie base heaped with their Frozen Yogurt ice cream. This is then slathered with a whipped cream outer shell along with generous helpings of raspberries dipped in strawberry sauce to offer a sweet finish.
The tart was the highlight with the savoury, crunchy sweetness of the cookie base melding beautifully with the frozen yogurt and sweet raspberries. The tart retails for RM199 for the 1.5kg variant and RM149 for the 1kg variant.
The new Frozen Yogurt flavours and desserts are available for dine-in or takeaway at all Häagen–Dazs locations nationwide. To reiterate, the Mango Smoothie, Froyo Crunch and Froyo Cheesecake Bingsu are available till 4 October 2017 though the Raspberry Yogurt Tart and Frozen Yogurt flavour will be a permanent addition to the menu.
