Heading home for Raya? Waze has you covered with Planned Drive feature
As far as navigation apps go, Waze has something of a following in Malaysia. How much? Well, apparently there’s over 2.5 million Malaysians actively using the app with over 1.2 million alerts contributed to the app per month of road hazards from potholes to accidents.
That massive font of data offers an unprecedented bird’s eye view of traffic patterns and Waze has revealed an interesting report on key travel statistics for the upcoming Raya holidays based on forecasted data from 21 June 2017 to 25 June 2017. Minus all the complicated stuff, they’ve distilled the data into two charts reproduced here.
Waze also has a ‘Planned Drives’ feature that aims to help to make the long trip home less of a chore by telling you when is the best time to leave so as to avoid the dreaded ‘exodus’ effect. Anything that saves users from the hazards of sitting stuck in traffic for hours on end gets a hearty thumbs up from us. The Waze app is available for free download on the Google Play store and the Apple App store.
