Honor 8 enjoys an RM300 markdown in Malaysia
Launched in Malaysia near the tail end of last year, the Honor 8 was one of the most powerful workhorse phones that we’ve ever seen. It came with a price tag that didn’t bust the bank while delivering in a rock solid spec sheet with a dual camera array thrown in for good measure akin to the posher Huawei P9. The good news is that the Honor 8 is now enjoying an overall price reduction in Malaysia to the tune of a RM300 markdown, making it an even more affordable proposition.
The Honor 8 comes in two configurations that differed in terms of onboard storage. One came with 32GB of storage while another came with 64GB of storage. Both sport a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a respectable Kirin 950 processor , 4GB RAM, a rear dual 12-MP camera array and a 3,000mAh battery with 9V 2A fast charging support. While they start with Android 6.0 out of the box, the Honor 8 is upgradable to Android 7.0 Nougat.
At launch, the Honor 8 shipped at RM1,699 for the 32GB variant and RM1,899 for the variant with 64GB of storage. Now, there is a permanent RM300 markdown across the board at physical retail outlets in Malaysia so the 32GB version now retails for a very wallet friendly RM1,399 while the 64GB version ships for RM1,599. The markdown has been spotted at physical retail locations and phone local distributor DirectD offers these prices online at their site. If you’re still on the fence, check out our review here.
