The Honor 8 Pro is coming to Malaysia with preorders priced at RM1,999
The original Honor 8 was launched last year and achieved quite a few milestones on account of its fetching mirrored finish, excellent specs and very agreeable price. Its successor, the Honor 8 Pro that has just been announced for preorders in Malaysia looks set to break quite a few of its own.
Also known as the Honor V9 in China, the Honor 8 Pro comes with an impressive array of hardware that allows it to go toe to toe with this year’s flagship phones including the P10. The 5.7-inch QHD display has a very respectable 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution. The processor under the hood is akin to the Huawei P10 – a HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, the latest SoC from their foundries running Android Nougat 7.0 with their EMUI 5.1 user interface with 6GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Externally, it differs from its predecessor as it eschews the ultra shiny mirrored finish of the Honor 8 in favour of a more conventional but still fetching all-metal chassis.
The rear camera comes as a dual sensor setup with a 12-MP RGB sensor working in tandem with a 12-MP black and white sensor that can capture both stills and up to 2160P video. The front-facing 8-MP camera has an F/2.0 aperture and can capture up to 1080P videos. Keeping it all running is a large 4,000mAh battery.
Ahead of their official media launch slated to happen sometime next week, the Honor store at IOI City Mall released on their official Facebook page the official price for the Honor 8 Pro which retails for RM1,999 with preorders getting a special free ‘gift’ and a cash voucher though the nature of the gift or the value of the voucher hasn’t been elaborated on in the post.
