Honor 8x arrives in Malaysia for just RM949
When it comes to bang for the buck, honor Malaysia has managed to carve out a name for themselves with phones that offer serious value. The latest addition to their line-up, the honor 8X attempts to raise the bar yet again as it pairs up a large display, tons of storage and a dual camera at a price tag under RM1K.
In terms of hardware, the honor 8X brings to the plate an absolutely massive 6.5-inch Full HD+ notched touchscreen sheathed with 2.5D glass that offers an impressive 91% screen-to-body ratio.
Powering the whole affair is a Kirin 710 octacore processor of recent vintage augmented by their GPU Turbo tech for better gaming on selected titlespaired up with 4GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage via a triple card slot which allows you to bung in two SIM cards and a microSD card too for good measure.
The rear is paved with a now increasingly common slab of smoothed mirrored glass done up in your choice of either blue or black. This time around, the honor 8X has a vertical strip that’s a shade lighter than the rest of the backplate to give it a unique look.
Arrayed along this strip is a vertically aligned dual camera with a 20-MP primary camera and a secondary 2-MP sensor for depth details to achieve a bokeh effect. For selfies, the front sports a 16-MP selfie camera. To keep all this running, it has a 3,750mAh battery juiced by a microUSB port.
For Malaysia, the honor 8X will retail for RM949 and will be first available for purchase online along with a free bundled set of bonuses on www.hihonor.com/my and Shopee starting 12 October.
In terms of goodies, the bundle is quite a bargain as it throws in a free cover, a free honor band 3 wearable and an RM100 voucher for getting additional accessories worth about RM500. From 13 October onwards, the honor 8X will be available at a roadshow at the MyTown Cheras mall and will also feature the same goodie kit albeit with a slightly lesser RM50 voucher along with the addition of a free honor backpack.
