HONOR Magic V2 Malaysia launch confirmed; coming to Malaysia super soon

HONOR Malaysia has officially announced that their flagship foldable the HONOR Magic V2 will be finally making its Malaysia debut ‘very soon’ in the near future. We managed to preview the HONOR Magic V2 last year fresh off its launch in China and found it was an impressively slim example of engineering indeed. 

What is the HONOR Magic V2 

To recap, the HONOR Magic V2 is arguably the slimmest inward folding foldable in the world as it is just 4.7mm thin when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded down while weighing just 231g. While slim, the HONOR Magic V2 can easily go toe to toe with other flagship foldables.

The front hosts a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ (1,060 x 2,376 pixels) resolution with a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,840Hz PWM dimming as well as 2,500 nits peak brightness. The main folding screen consists of a 7.92-inch foldable OLED display with 2,344 x 2,156 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a squarish 9.78:9 aspect ratio.

Of note is that the HONOR Magic V2 implements tough yet light titanium alloy in the construction of its hinge to ensure exceptional durability along with a special formulation of steel called HONOR Shield Steel in the hinge assembly to ensure that the phone can survive more than 400,000 folds over its lifetime – this means opening and closing the phone over a 100 times a day for a decade which is quite a feat indeed. The new hinge design is also 75% thinner and has 47% less creases than its predecessor the HONOR Magic Vs.

Powering the HONOR Magic V2 is the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor running Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2 under the hood. You also get a generous 16GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

The rear of the HONOR Magic V2 is built around a primary 50MP F/1.9 camera with OIS, a 20MP F/2.4 telephoto camera that also has OIS and 40X hybrid zoom and a 50MP F/2.0 camera. Up front, you get a 16MP F/2.2 camera for selfies. Keeping the HONOR Magic V2 powered is a 5,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging.
