Honor Magic8 Pro upgraded with free new AI Voice Cloning Detection feature to combat latest wave of voice cloning silent calls
The Honor Magic8 Pro is one of the best flagship camera phones of 2025 and even before the year is out, Honor has beefed up its cybersecurity defenses for users with a new AI Voice Cloning Detection feature.
Beyond its impressive rear cameras and flagship grade hardware, the Honor Magic8 Pro is best known for its AI Scam Detection suite that detects if a caller is using an AI Deepfake video. Now, Honor has taken the next step to combat the latest wave of scams – voice cloning silent calls with its AI Voice Cloning Detection feature.
What is AI Voice Cloning Detection
For the uninitiated, the latest wave of scams befalling Malaysians has unknown numbers calling you and then not saying a word hoping that you’d say something or as much as possible.

Your voice is then recorded and AI will then replicate it for use in other scams such as soliciting funds from friends and family or faking authorisation from other services to steal your identity. The Honor Magic8 Pro’s AI Scam Detection nips this issue in the bud with its new AI Voice Cloning Detection.

With this feature, the phone analyses calls to detect cloned or synthetised voices. When anomalies are detected, users will receive a warning that the caller is using a synthesised fake voice. In addition, Honor has also upgraded their AI Deepfake Detection that now detects and checks for digitally altered faces in up to 8 people in a video call.
