Honor Magic8 Pro launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM4,599 with RM3,090 in preorder free gifts

Honor has officially launched their latest flagship phone the Honor Magic8 Pro in Malaysia with prices that start from RM4,599, your choice of three colourways and a generous preorder programme that offers up to RM30,90 in free gifts. 

What is the Honor Magic8 Pro

Up front,  you have a 6.71-inch Honor AI Eye Comfort OLED display with 1,256 x 2,808 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 6,000 nits peak brightness and a slab of tough NanoCrystal Shield protective glass to minimise the risk of nicks and scratches.

The display also has a host of eye protection technologies to optimise eye comfort and minimise eye fatigue such that it has a vaunted TUV Rheinland Personalised Eye Protection rating. The phone is also the first flagship to have IP68, IP69 and IP69K industrial water and dust resistance.

Powering the phone is the latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset which is currently the most powerful mobile processor from Qualcomm’s foundries. This is paired with up to 16GB RAM with the option to assign up to 12GB of virtual RAM off the onboard 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Running under the hood is the latest Android 16 with Honor’s own Magic OS 10.0. Keeping the phone powered is a 7,100mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging along with reverse wireless charging. 

The biggest improvements to Honor’s latest flagship phone are to its cameras with the rear packing what they refer to as the 200MP f/2.6 Ultra Night Telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, a 50MP f/1.6 main camera that also has OIS and a 50MP f/2.0 ultra wide angle camera.

Interestingly, the Honor Magic8 Pro’s cameras have an industry-first flicker detection mode, allowing you to check if a given lamp or bulb has an unsafe level of light flickering by simply pointing a camera at a given light source.

What makes the Honor Magic8 Pro particularly impressive is that it also integrates AI to help enhance and sharpen images especially beyond 10x zoom.
