Honor X8b and X7b budget phones coming to Malaysia this 22nd December 2023

Fresh off the release of their ultra durable X9b tough midrange phone, Honor will be bringing in its siblings the Honor X8b and Honor X7b to Malaysia this coming 22nd December 2023. There’s no official price or preorder special details yet at present from Honor Malaysia though specifications about both phones are in the wild.

Honor X8b specifications

A step down from the Honor X9b, the Honor X8b has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a pill-shaped cutout up front that houses a 50MP  ‘Spotlight Portrait’ selfie camera and flash to create better mugshots.

The rear is done up in a textured faux leather finish in your choice of a signature Glamourous Green or Titanium Silver with a squarish camera housing on the rear hosting a triple camera array and flash. You get a 108MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra wide angle camera and a 2MP macro camera.

Under the hood, the phone hosts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor with Android and their MagicOS 7.2 running under the hood, 8GB RAM and 512GB of non-expandable storage.

Of note here is that Honor’s MagicOS also adds 8GB of additional virtual RAM assigned off the onboard storage for a grand total of 16GB of combined RAM. Powering the phone is a 4,500mAh battery with 35W fast charging support. 

Honor X7b specifications

The Honor X7b variant differs from its siblings in that it has a massive 6,000mAh battery with 35W wired fast charging paired with a 6.8-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a traditional punch hole for the front-facing 8MP selfie camera. 

Under the hood, the phone runs Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2 on a Snapdragon 680 processor identical to the Honor X8b that is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The rear hosts a dual camera island design that has a triple camera array with a 108MP primary snapper, a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera.
