Tough new Honor X9e Pro 5G coming soon to Malaysia – here’s what you need to know
Since its inception, Honor’s X9 series has built a reputation as one of the toughest smartphones that money can buy, with each generation pushing durability to increasingly extreme levels. Its annual pre-launch briefings have become one of the most anticipated highlights of the year.
@hitechcentury Check out just how tough the new HONOR X9e Pro 5G is! HONOR invited us over for a field test of their latest phone that will launch soon in Malaysia and let us smash and plink BB rounds off it – will it survive? @HONOR Malaysia #honorx9epro ♬ original sound – Hitech Century
Why? Because Honor seems determined to outdo itself every year, with previous demonstrations showing X9 series phones surviving tests that would total other phones from smashing tiles and nuts to hammering nails into wood.
The new Honor X9e Pro 5G looks set to dial things to eleven this time around. Just like clockwork, Honor Malaysia invited us for a special preview where they allowed invited guests to subject their latest tough phone to a gauntlet of destructive tests while sharing a bit on the improvements they have made to the phone.

During the demonstration, Honor allowed guests to smash samples of the Honor X9e Pro 5G to crack open pistachios, crack through asbestos and ceramic tiles and even nail nails into wood – feats that were achieved by prior generations.
Where Honor topped things this time around was putting the phones on a gunnery range and subjecting them to multiple BB rounds fired from airsoft guns – even after mag dumping several rounds, the displays worked without error which is impressive.
Previously Honor demonstrated that the phone was able to survive a dunking in boiling water. This time around, they’ve upped the ante with improved imaging capabilities and the phone now allows users to capture videos and photos underwater.
On paper, Honor officially states that the Honor X9e Pro 5G features 3m drop resistance, IP69K water resistance and an SGS-certified 5 Star Comprehensive Reliability Rating.
Honor X9e Pro 5G – Enhanced battery Endurance
This time around, the Honor X9e Pro 5G comes with a larger 11,000mAh battery which exceeds the usual 10,000mAh capacity seen in standard-issue power banks and many other flagship phones. To juice something this large, Honor has also equipped the phone with 80W Honor Supercharge wired charging which exceeds several flagship phones from competing brands.
On paper, Honor has vouched that the phone offers 3-day long battery life which works out to approximately 164.5 hours of music playback or 35.6 hours of short video playback and about 66.8 hours of video playback. Seeing its massive battery capacity, the phone also supports 27W reverse wired charging with a demonstration showing a single Honor X9e Pro 5G charging multiple devices in one go.
Honor X9e Pro 5G – Brighter Display
According to Honor, the X9e Pro 5G has a 67% brighter display with a quoted 10,000 nits of peak brightness which is significantly brighter than many competing phones. To demonstrate this, they also showcased several examples of the phone outdoors under direct sunlight.
To date, there’s no firm mentions of its exact specifications beyond its battery capacity and its availability in four colourways but there’s not much longer to wait as the Honor X9e Pro 5G is slated to launch this coming 24 September 2026. Stay tuned for updates!
