HONOR X9e Pro tough midrange phone launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM1,899

Honor has officially launched their latest addition to their X9 series tough phone line-up dubbed the Honor X9e Pro that offers enhanced water and drop resistance, a larger battery and improved AI capabilities along with a slew of upgrades across the board.

What is the Honor X9e Pro?

The successor to last year’s Honor X9d, the HONOR X9e Pro comes in an exceptionally durable chassis that weighs 203g and is able to shrug off drops and up to 10-metres of water immersion while retaining an IP68, IP69 and IP69K dust and water resistance rating as well as a SGS 5-Star Certification for Drop Resistance in Harsh Certification rating.

Up front, it has a single 6.8-inch FullView Display which has 2,788 x 1,280 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, and, of note, an impressive 10,000 nits peak brightness that allows for excellent clarity even under direct sunlight. The screen itself also has what HONOR refers to as Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop technology that lets it shrug off rubber airsoft rounds, smash nails into wood, crush nuts and several other feats that would total conventionally protected phones.

Running under the hood of the Honor X9e Pro is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor running Android 16 and features Magic OS 10.0 paired with 8GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. Connectivity is comprehensive with 5G, WiFi6 and Bluetooth 6.0.

For imaging duties, the Honor X9e Pro comes with a 108MP f/1.75 main camera that also features a respectable CIPA 6.0 stabilisation rating akin to the HONOR 600 Pro that allows for better low light imaging capabilities.

Paired with the main camera is a 5MP f/2.2 ultra wide angle camera. Up front, the Honor X9e Pro hosts a single 16MP f/2.45 selfie camera for video calls and mugshots. What makes it particularly exceptional as midrange phones go is its ability to capture both videos and stills underwater which offers new creative options for content creators.

On top of exceptional durability, the HONOR X9e Pro tops the majority of competing smartphones with an absolutely massive 11,000mAh battery that also has fast 80W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging to top up other devices.

In Malaysia, the Honor X9e Pro is now available for preorders until 8 October 2026 with RM1,626 in free gifts that includes a free HONOR Tab X7 tablet. In terms of pricing, the Honor X9e Pro 5G with 8GB RAM/256GB storage is priced at RM1,899 while the 8GB RAM/512GB storage is priced at RM2,399. Both storage configurations also come in your choice of Royal Purple, Reddish Brown, Dawn Gold and Midnight Black colourways.
