House of cards gets laid down on LG’s rock steady new washing machine

Building a house of cards isn’t easy, if Netflix’s gripping political drama is anything to go by; more so if you even attempt to build such a stack on a moving washing machine but LG went and done that and knocked a Guinness world record out of the park too.

LG snagged the talents of professional card stacker (yes, apparently such a thing exists) Bryan Berg who built a 48-storey high, 3.3 meter tall card tower in 12 hours on top of a moving LG Centum washing machine spinning at 1,000 RPM. While it’s visually impressive, one of the key reasons why Bryan pulled it off is, as you’d likely surmise, how rock steady LG’s Centum is.

According to LG, the Centum washing machine eschews the traditional springs used in most washing machines for a set of shock absorbers like that used in cars to drastically reduce vibrations and noise levels. When in operation, it’s only 67dB when in use which is about the noise of a typical conversation. Still, that doesn’t detract from what is already a very impressive feat of skill, patience and sheer badassery. We’ll just leave you with a shot of what they managed to achieve.
