HP ZBook Ultra G1a and HP Z2 Mini G1a Workstation for enterprise launched in Malaysia

HP have carved a niche out for themselves in the enterprise space with their Z-series laptops that offer enhanced performance and are capable of handling demanding workloads.

To meet that need, HP has introduced their new HP ZBook Ultra G1a mobile workstation and the ultra compact HP Z2 Mini G1a workstation for static deployments, both of which have been juiced up to handle next-gen AI PC workloads powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO processors that offer up to 50 TOPS NPU, allowing for demanding tasks like 3D design, rendering and also work with large language models (LLMs).

Dubbed the most powerful 14-inch mobile workstation, the HP ZBook Ultra G1a comes in a variety of configurations depending on need with your choice of a 14-inch OLED touch display with 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and 100% DCI-P3 or a 14-inch WUXGA non-touch displays with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and 100% sRGB. Issued as standard is a quad-speaker array flanking the keyboard tray paired with a 5MP+infrared camera combo for video calls and Windows Hello authentication. 

The laptop is also equipped with a diverse array of ports which include a HDMI 2.1 port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-C with USB power delivery and DisplayPort 2.1 support and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Powering the HP ZBook Ultra G1a mobile workstation are the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO series processors with up to the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 processor that has a 40 graphics core count paired with Radeon 80605 graphics. Depending on how deep your procurement department’s pockets go, the HP ZBook Ultra G1a can be kitted out with up to 128GB LPDDR5X RAM with up to a  4TB SSD. Keeping the laptop powered is a 74.5Whr polymer battery with a 140W USB-C power supply.

To keep all the hardware cool, HP is leveraging their HP Vaporforce Thermal solution that includes a vapour chamber as well as a pair of high-density fans along with a redesigned hinge for superior heat ventilation performance. To further ensure optimised cooling, the laptop has their HP Smart Sense that dynamically adjusts power and thermal performance based on usage for optimised performance. Seeing its role as a portable workstation, the HP ZBook Ultra G1a maxes out at about 1.5kg and prices will of course vary depending on configuration with prices starting from RM7,799 and up.

Compact with the dimensions of a chunky paperback, the HP Z2 Mini G1a is dubbed as the most powerful mini workstation in the market. Shoehorned within its small form factor design is the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO processor 395 processor, up to 128GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 8TB storage and integrated graphics Prices start from RM5,999 and up.
