HTC’s sub-RM800 workhorse Desire 628 with octacore chip hits the market
If you’re in the market for a workhorse phone and you still appreciate the aesthetics that HTC offers, you’ll appreciate the charms that their new Desire 628 offers.
The phone comes with dual standby SIM card slots, has a 5-inch HD display, a 1.3GHz octacore processor paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage via a dedicated microSD slot. The rear comes with a 13-MP camera with a BSI sensor while the front has a 5-MP camera for self portrait shots. Both front and rear cameras are capable of capturing 1080p video. Keeping it powered is a non-removable 2,200mAh battery. The phone lacks the front-facing BoomSound speakers that HTC is usually known for and retains a single mono speaker though it still retains a BoomSound tuned audio profile when you plug in your headphones.
The Desire 628 comes in two different colours – Cobalt White which is a fancy way of saying matte white with blue trim and quaintly enough, Sunset Blue which isn’t actually blue but is matte black with red trim all around. The phone costs RM799 and should be available at all the usual retail and online channels nationwide.
