Huawei launches P10, P10 Plus and P10 Lite in Malaysia from RM1,299
Just days after their debut at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Huawei has made Malaysia one of, if not the first country in the first wave to have their new flagship P10 and P10 Plus smartphones available for sale. In a surprise announcement, they’ve also announced the budget P10 lite phone along with the svelte Nova Lite and Huawei Watch 2 wearable.
Huawei P10
The Huawei P10 comes with a host of upgrades over its older P9 predecessor and retains the prestigious Leica camera tech on the rear.
At 7mm thin, the all-metal P10 sports a 5.1-inch 1080P IPS-NEO LCD display sheathed in Corning Gorilla Glass and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with their Emotion UI 5.1 user interface. Running under the hood is their HiSilicon Kirin 960 2.4Ghz octacore processor. Keeping things humming along is 4GB RAM and for the Malaysia market, 64GB of expandable storage.
The vaunted dual rear camera is a significant step up from the prior P9 with a 20-MP mono camera for depth of field and detail and a 12-MP colour camera working in tandem with both having F/2.2 apertures, optical image stabilisation and Leica optics.
The front comes with an 8-MP F/1.9 selfie camera and has also been upgraded with Leica optics too. A fingerprint on the front and a 3,200mAh battery round out its offerings.
P10 Plus
The larger P10 Plus packs a bigger, crisper 5.5-inch 1,440 x 2,460 pixel display with a 540 ppi pixel density.
The processor is identical to the P10 in the form of a HiSilicon Kirin 960 octacore processor though it comes with a larger 3,750mAh battery and has more storage and memory with 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
The rear camera on the P10 Plus has a similar 20-MP mono and 12-MP colour setup but has a better F/1.8 aperture with Leica Summilux-H optics and an upgraded front-facing 8-MP F/1.9 selfie camera that is also enhanced with Leica optics and tech for studio-like portrait shots.
P10 Lite
The budget P10 Lite has a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Kirin 655 octacore 2.1Ghz processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage and a rear 12-MP camera with a front-facing 8-MP selfie camera.
A 3,000mAh battery keeps it juiced for over a day plus and it also has a rear fingerprint reader too. The base also has a 3.5mm audio jack for music listening duties.
Nova Lite
The Nova Lite has a 5.2-inch 423ppi 1080p display, an efficient Kirin 650 2.0 Ghz octacore processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
The rear has a 12-MP camera while the front bears an 8-MP selfie camera. A 3,000mAh battery keeps it powered.
