Huawei Mate X6 Specs for Malaysia

Adopting the proven book-style format with an inner folding display and front display, the Huawei Mate X6 weighs about 239g and will come in three colours, a deep maroon, light grey and black for Malaysia. According to Huawei, the Mate X6 is not only slimmer and lighter than its predecessors but tougher too.

What is the Huawei Mate X6?

The chassis itself, which is an exceptional 4.6mm thin when fully unfurled, has been strengthened and hardened, with a hinge and frame made of a tough, damage resistant material with the front display protection by second-generation Kunlun Glass. The chassis itself is also rated for IPX8 water resistance, allowing it to survive in up to 2 metres of water for up to 30 minutes and also has a reinforced Water Drop Hinge that is 27% tougher with the use of MIM steel.

The chassis itself also relies on carbon fiber to offer 65% better material strength than common carbon fiber while the frame itself utilises 7000 series aluminium alloy that offers 37% better material strength compared to conventional 6 series aluminium alloy used in many phones.

The Huawei Mate X6 also has a redesigned internal layout that spaces apart heat generating components while also integrating a 3D vapour chamber with liquid cooling along with a graphite sheet to more efficiently vent heat from the phone.

Up front, the phone has a 6.45-inch FHD LTPO OLED display with 2,500 nits peak brightness and a 1-120Hz dynamic refresh rate that is sheathed in tough second-generation Kunlun Glass while the inner main foldable 7.93-inch LTPO OLED panel has an almost square 1:1 aspect ratio with 2,440 x 2,240 pixel resolution, a dynamic 1,120Hz variable refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits peak brightness.

Of greater interest is that the Huawei Mate X6 will run their current EMUI 15 rather than the Harmony OS seen in versions in China on an inhouse Kirin 9020 processor paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The phone notably has the ability to run three apps simultaneously onscreen and has the ability to run Google apps.

There is an 8MP camera on the main folding screen while the front has a single 8MP sensor for selfies. Keeping the Huawei Mate X6 powered is a 5,110mAh battery with 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

There’s no official details on how much the Huawei Mate X6 will cost but it has appeared on the Huawei Malaysia website.
