Huawei Mate Xs 2 Malaysia price announced at RM7,999 with a whopping RM1,400 in free gifts

Huawei has finally revealed the production versions of their Mate Xs 2 flagship foldable in their latest grand Malaysia launch along with its RM7,999 price tag, preorder details and exact specifications.

What is the Huawei Mate Xs 2

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 represents the best hardware that they can muster and they have not been idle. The key centrepiece to the new Huawei Mate Xs 2 is its foldable 7.8-inch OLED display which has a 120Hz refresh rate, is rated for a 240Hz touch sampling rate and 424 ppi off its 2,480 x 2,200 pixel touchscreen. Fold it down and the rear half of the display turns off, leaving you with a 6.8-inch diagonal OLED touchscreen. 

What makes the Mate Xs 2 special here is their improved Falcon Wing hinge that allows the display to fold almost virtually flat. Even on close inspection, the fully unfolded OLED display has an almost imperceptible crease and even then you’d have to be peering at it at point blank ranges.

The hinge and entire chassis has also been rated to be modestly drop proof and while it doesn’t have an official rating, company representatives have confidently tossed the phone fully open from waist height without so much as a scratch.

Bar the display, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 has a Snapdragon 888 CPU, 8GB RAM, 512GB of onboard storage and a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging. The rear camera consists of  50MP True Chroma camera, a 13MP ultra wide angle camera and an 8MP telephoto camera while the display has a small punch hole for a 10.7MP selfie camera. Running under the hood of the Huawei Mate Xs 2 is their own EMUI 12 with apps acquired from the Huawei AppGallery.
