Huawei’s latest compact productivity tablet, the MatePad 12 X 2026 has just been launched in Malaysia in your choice of two colourways priced at RM2,499 with preorders offering RM1,047 in free gifts.

In terms of build and design, the Huawei MatePad 12 X 2026 is 5.9mm thin while weighing about 555g and features a large 12-inch Ultra-clear PaperMatte IPS display with 2,800 x 1,840 pixels resolution that offers a P3 wide colour gamut and an 88% screen-to-body ratio.
The provision of a PaperMatte coating means that the display offers greater clarity even under glaring sunlight and harsh reflections with a quoted 50% reduction in sparkles onscreen. Flanking the display are six speakers for richer, bigger sound.

Paired with the chipset is 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Keeping things powered is a 10,000mAh battery that supports 66W SuperCharge wired fast charging. For imaging duties, the rear hosts a 50MP f/1.8 autofocus camera with the front hosting a single 8MP f/2.2 camera for selfies and video calls.
What elevates the Huawei MatePad 12 X 2026 into a PC-like productivity platform is the inclusion of a full, free copy of PC-like WPS Office Suite that offers native compatibility with Microsoft Office file formats along with a Smart Magnetic Keyboard.
The tablet can also be acquired with an optional M-Pencil Pro stylus with 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity to allow it to tackle paperwork, creative tasks and content consumption duties in equal measure.
