New Huawei MatePad 12 X tablet with PaperMatte display and Watch D2 with blood pressure monitoring launched in Malaysia

Huawei has launched an eclectic array of new products in Malaysia with the official announcement of the Huawei MatePad 12 X tablet that combines a rich laptop-like user experience in a compact form factor,  the Huawei Watch D2 that offers 24/7 professional-grade wrist-based blood pressure monitoring on top of tracking other critical biometric markers as well as the Huawei FreeBuds 6i SkullPanda Edition earbuds.

The new Huawei Watch D2 not only has European CE (MDR) medical-certification but it is also the world’s first smartwatch with ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) that has been approved by the Malaysian Medical Device Authority, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and Medical Device Regulation (MDR) authority in Malaysia, among several across the world, vouching for its accuracy. 

Key to achieving these results is the integration of a miniature air pump and an inflatable air bag in the cuff along with a high-precision pressure sensor to offer precise blood pressure measures. The Huawei Watch D2 also offers ECG analysis, Sp02 monitoring, pulse wave arrhythmia analysis, heart rate, stress level and skin temperature along with sleep quality tracking to give a comprehensive overall picture of health for users. In effect, this enables users to get a blood pressure reading anytime, anywhere with the Huawei Watch D2.

All these features are compiled in an optional Health Glance report to identify potential health risks for further action and the Huawei Watch D2 even offers 80 exercise modes for a healthier lifestyle. Blood pressure tracking capabilities aside, the Huawei Watch D2 is rated for six days of battery life and comes with a 1.82-inch display with compatibility for both iOS and Android devices.

In Malaysia, the Huawei Watch D2 retails for RM1,999 and can be preordered at the Huawei official website, Huawei official store on Shopee and Lazada with free gifts worth up to RM1,276 which includes the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2, Huawei Scale 3, Huawei Watch D2 strap, 2 years warranty and accidental damage protection. Huawei FreeBuds 6i SkullPanda edition specs and price

While the MatePad 12 X and the Watch D 2 took price of place at their official launch, Huawei also announced the launch of a limited edition variant of their FreeBuds 6i earbuds dubbed the Huawei FreeBuds 6i SkullPanda edition which retails for RM699 and which comes in a special gift set that integrates a casing and figurine.

Bar the additional goodies, the limited edition version is functionally identical to the stock variant with 35 hours of rated battery life, improved noise cancellation tech and 11mm quad-magnetic dynamic drivers.

 Limited quantities of the Huawei FreeBuds 6i SkullPanda edition  are available in Malaysia and can be acquired at the Huawei official website, the Huawei official online store on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok from 25 November 2024 onwards.

Intended as a slim and compact alternative to a conventional PC without compromising productivity and efficiency, the Huawei MatePad 12 X has a  12-inch PaperMatte display and notably sports a full-fledged version of PC-Like WPS Office with full compatibility with Microsoft Windows Doc, Ppt and Xls file formats.

This enables users to create and edit Word Documents, Excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations straight off the tablet which also has a bundled Smart Magnetic Keyboard case and a 3rd Gen M-Pencil stylus to annotate documents and for easier typing too in a form factor that’s just 863g including its keyboard case.

The Huawei MatePad 12 X also features Huawei’s Go Paint app which allows the tablet to act as a digital canvas for content creators along with their Huawei Notes app that allows for easy note taking and the unusual ability to record voice notes in sync with written notes which is ideal for meetings and lectures. It also has a large 10,1000mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging that’s rated for 14 hours of video playback.

In Malaysia, the Huawei MatePad 12 X is priced at RM2,999 and is available on preorder from today till 29 November 2024 with up to RM2,624 in free gifts as well as an RM200 early bird voucher.
