Huawei is now in the 12th spot in the Brand Finance Global 500 report
Huawei has certainly seen a profitable year indeed with the brand catapulting to become the world’s second largest manufacturer of smartphones but they have another feather to add to their cap this time around as Brand Finance has reported that the brand has made a massive leap from the 25th spot to the 12th position in their prestigious Brand Finance Global 500 report in 2019.
Huawei consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong said,”In 2018, Huawei’s consumer business achieved revenues of more than $50 billion, and global shipments of smartphones exceeded 206 million units. Among them, the Huawei P20 series shipped more than 17 million units worldwide. The Huawei Mate 20 series shipped in October last year exceeded 7.5 million units.”
This massive increase is on account of a brand value worth USD 62,278 billion which is a staggering sum indeed. At their initial debut in the report in 2016, Huawei ranked in the top 500 on the list. Their significant investments in R&D have buoyed their meteoric rise and have resulted in their own Kirin processors and an array of innovative products like their recently released Mate 20 Pro phablet.
On that note, Huawei was also proud to announce that they shipped more than 200 million smartphones across all product lines in 2018. That, folks, is a lot of phones. For more details on Huawei and their offerings, swing by their official page at https://consumer.huawei.com/my/
