Huawei Pura 80 series preorders live in Malaysia with up to RM1,428 in free gifts

Huawei unveiled their next generation Pura 80 series phones in a global launch in Dubai that consists of the base Pura 80, the  Pura 80 Pro and the Pura 80 Ultra. For the Malaysia market, Huawei has announced that both the Huawei Pura 80 Pro and the Pura 80 Ultra will be available for preorder starting from today with up to RM1,428 in free gifts with an official launch on 24 July 2025.

What is the Huawei Pura 80 series?

As you’d likely surmise, the Huawei Pura 80 series is the successor to the prior Pura70 series that debuted in May last year with an emphasis on camera performance and a distinctive triangular camera housing on the rear.

Both the Pura 80 Pro and the Pura 80 Ultra feature a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 2,848 x 1,276 pixels resolution 1-120Hz refresh rate, 1,440Hz PWM dimming and up to a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Powering both phones is a 7nm Kirin 9020 processor running their own EUMI 15 and apps sourced off their own Huawei Appgallery. Both the Pro and Ultra models feature 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage.

Where they differ is in terms of their rear camera setups with the Pro model featuring a 50MP F/1.6- F/4.0 camera with a changeable aperture augmented by optical image stabilisation. Riding shotgun is a 40MP F/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, a 48MP F/2.1 telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom also with OIS and a 1.5MP Ultra Chroma Camera. 

The Ultra configuration is mostly similar but adds in an additional 12.5MP F/3.6 dual telephoto camera with 9.4X optical zoom that shares space with the 48MP telephoto 3.7x telephoto zoom camera, with the Ultra using a sophisticated mechanical shutter that lets users swap between both lensess as needed.

Both the Pura 80 and Pura 80 Ultra both feature a 13MP F/2.0 selfie camera. Keeping both phones powered is a 5,170mAh battery with 100W Huawei SUperCharge tech with a compatible charger and cable. There’s also 80W Huawei SuperCharge wireless support too.

Hardware aside, both the Pura 80 Pro and Pura 80 Ultra feature an AI Smart Controls Button that offers access to personalised shortcuts for the camera, torch or lens while doubling as a fingerprint reader. The chassis for the Pura 80 series also features 2nd Generation Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass with 16 times more scratch resistance and 25% better drop resistance.

Available colourways consist of Glazed Red, Glazed White and Glazed black for the Pro model and either Prestige Gold or Golden Black for the Ultra variant.
